The HIPAA Privacy Training is required for all individuals who will be viewing Protected Health Information (PHI) or Personal Identification Information (PII).  We must be able to provide our regulatory agencies evidence to show each individual has completed a formal compliance HIPAA training program.

Piedmont produced this Privacy Training to update our workforce on the material changes resulting from the Omnibus Rule (effective Sept. 2013).

Your organization is likely to have your own HIPAA Compliance Trainings and Policies and Procedures, as this is not unique to federally regulated health plans, but applies to any organization who creates, receives, transmits or maintains PHI.  We are providing our training as a courtesy should you need it or want to share it with your Downstream or Related Entities.

All new employees should complete a HIPAA training as they complete the FWA and General Compliance training, and any additional trainings as new regulations warrant.  It is recommended that HIPAA trainings be conducted at least every three years, but Piedmont has chosen to make this an annual requirement for Piedmont employees.
