Be a Stem Cell Donor!
A simple cheek swab is all it takes. You could help save the life of a cancer patient by becoming a member of the Be The Match Registry®, which matches potential blood stem cell donors with patients in need.
According to research, 70 percent of patients with blood cancers or disorders do not have a blood stem cell donor in their family and patients are most likely to match with someone of their same ethnicity.
After you answer questions about your medical history, a representative will determine if you are a fit for the registry. The registry will test your swab kit to determine your HLA type and enter you into the registry. If you are identified as a potential match, the registry will contact you.
You can join the Be The Match Registry®, if you are:
- Between the ages of 18 and 40.
- A resident of the United States or Puerto Rico.
- Able to meet the registry’s health guidelines.
