You enhanced stays and accessibility at the Rosemary & George Dawson Inn, which provides lodging for Centra patients, or family and friends of patients, who are receiving care at any Centra location.
A good night’s rest in a warm, welcoming space with accessible accommodations can make a big difference for those facing tough health challenges or supporting loved ones receiving care.
Thanks to donor support, the Rosemary & George Dawson Inn opened in 2012 and has provided this for Centra patients, or family and friends of patients, for over a decade, including for patients who struggle to afford lodging.
Recently, Caregivers at the Dawson Inn noted a need for renovations and upgrades as well as a significant increase in requests for rooms with more accessibility. Your donations, including to the Greatest Need Fund, enabled the Centra Foundation to approve funding for new mattresses, box springs, bed frames, flooring, furniture and lighting as well as fresh paint and two wheelchair accessible bathrooms to accommodate more guests who have physical disabilities.
At an open house this spring, Caregivers shared a few words of appreciation from guests. The overriding sentiment? “Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
