Medical Staff Office (MSO)

The Medical Staff Office supports the medical staff and serves as the central hub for governance, compliance, and provider engagement. The MSO manages the processes that ensure all providers meet the standards required to deliver safe, high-quality care.

Key functions include:

• Medical Staff Governance: Supports the Medical Executive Committee (MEC), and all medical staff departments and committees.
• Provider Enrollment & Onboarding Support: Coordinates with leaders and departments to ensure providers have the information and access needed for a smooth start.
• Privileges & Bylaws Management: Oversees the privileging process, maintains medical staff bylaws, policies, and procedures, and ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements.
• Education & Communication: Facilitates mandatory education requirements and provides timely updates to the medical staff community.
• Provider Support: Serves as the primary resource for questions related to medical staff processes, governance, and clinical privileges.
• Quality & Outcomes – The MSO helps maintain accurate provider data, coordinates provider-related quality initiatives, facilities peer review and the FPPE/OPPE process.

Centralized Verification Office (CVO)

The Centralized Verification Office manages the credentialing and primary source verification process for all providers. The CVO ensures accuracy, efficiency, and compliance by thoroughly validating provider qualifications before they join the medical staff or network.

Key functions include:

• Primary Source Verification: Confirms education, training, licensure, certifications, work history, and competency.
• Credentialing File Preparation: Creates and maintains complete, compliant credentialing files for review by the Medical Executive Committees.
• Delegated Credentialing Support: Works with contracted payers to streamline enrollment through delegated agreements, reducing redundancy for providers.
• Ongoing Monitoring: Performs continuous monitoring of licensure, sanctions, NPDB, and other regulatory requirements.
• Re-credentialing: Manages the re-credentialing cycle to ensure providers remain in good standing and meet all ongoing standards.
