Our Approach
Virginia Baptist Hospital has been an important part of Lynchburg and the surrounding region for more than a century. Generations of community members have personal connections to the campus, and Centra recognizes both the deep history of the site and its meaningful place within the Rivermont neighborhood.
As healthcare delivery continues to evolve, we have been thoughtfully modernizing our system of care to better meet the needs of our patients and communities. With recent investments positioning Lynchburg General Hospital as the primary hub of care, we are now exploring potential future uses for the Virginia Baptist Hospital campus.
Because of the campus’s historic nature and its close connection to the surrounding neighborhood, we are committed to approaching this work with care, transparency and collaboration. We believe the future of this campus should honor its legacy while being compatible with the community it has long served.
